Denver’s Story
On January 30, 2003, a light was born into this world—our son, Denver Shaun Mullins. From the moment he entered this world, he captured everyones hearts. Nurses, doctors, and everyone around couldn’t help but smile. Denver had that effect on people—he always did.
Growing up, Denver was full of life, energy, and adventure. If it had two wheels or four, Denver was on it. Trick bikes, scooters, doodle bugs, dirt bikes, four-wheelers, motorcycles, or cars—you name it, he rode it. Wheels weren’t just his passion, they were his freedom. He loved working on bikes, spending countless hours fixing not only his own but anyone else’s who needed it. That was Denver—if you needed help, he was there with a smile and a giving heart.
As he grew older, his love for cars only deepened. He studied hard and became a diesel mechanic, dreaming of one day owning one of every kind of vehicle. Denver didn’t just love them—he lived for them. But more than his love for wheels, Denver’s greatest gift was his smile. It was contagious—when Denver smiled, you couldn’t help but smile too. It was the smile that just grabbed your heart strings and you couldnt help but smile back.
On September 20, 2024, our lives were shattered forever. That morning, Denver was heading to work. He told me goodbye, said he loved me, and I told him I loved him too and to Becareful. He smiled and said, “My mom, I'm always careful.” I didn’t know those would be the last words I’d ever hear from my son. I will hold those last moments with me forever. It is all I have left.
A mother always knows—something in my heart felt uneasy. I got on Facebook after Denver left for work. I saw a post about an accident on North Point Boulevard. Something pulled me out of bed, I immediately started calling Denver, getting no answer, I called his job he wasnt there. I got dressed and went to where Denver's Life 360 said he was. When I got there, my worst nightmare became reality. Denver was gone—killed by a reckless, careless driver. We were kept from the scene for over five agonizing hours. No parent should ever endure that. The pain is beyond words. The days that followed were a blur. Our baby, our pride, our joy—taken from this world far too soon. No answers, No goodbye, No explanation. What do I do now? What do we do now? Denver's life isnt going to end like this. Denver's life has meaning and purpose.
Denver’s story isn't ending here.
To keep his name and spirit alive, we have created Denver’s Legacy Foundation. This foundation is built on everything Denver stood for—kindness, generosity, passion, and love. Denver would and has given the shirt off his back to help someone and now, through his legacy, he still will.
Through this foundation, we are:
• Establishing a grant at Sollers Point High School in Denver’s name.
• Visiting schools and community events to raise motorcycle awareness and helmet safety.
• Spreading the importance of life insurance for all ages, because tomorrow is never promised.
- Starting to help others who are going through the devastation of losing a child.
Denver’s logo and message is simple but powerful:
“Share the Road, Respect the Ride.”
This is more than a slogan—it’s Denver’s voice echoing through all of us, reminding us to look out for one another, to respect every life, and to keep each other safe.
Denver was a son, a brother, a cousin, a grandson, a boy friend, a friend and a shining light to everyone who knew him. His laugh, his smile, his love will live on through this foundation. Though he was taken from us too soon, his spirit will forever ride on forever!
We invite you to join us in keeping Denver’s memory alive—not just by remembering who he was, but by carrying forward the love, joy, and selflessness he gave so freely.
#Forever 21. Forever loved. Forever Denver.
